Vincent Cox

Vincent Cox was born in Ittervoort (Limburg/The Netherlands) in 1973.

From 1984 until 1991 he attended percussion lessons at “KREATO”, school of music, in Thorn. He was educated by Jo Zinzen who also taught at the academy of music in Voeren (Belgium) where Vincent attended lessons between 1990 and 1993.

After his pre-university education he went to the academy of music in Maastricht in 1992. He studied percussion and was educated as percussionist by Pieter Jansen and timpanist by Werner Otten. In 1997 he graduated with distinction and received his diploma for teaching music. Three years later, in 2000, he passed his exams with distinction again and received a diploma for performing artist.

During his study he was a member of the “European Union Youth Orchestra”.
As a teacher he worked at “KREATO” in Thorn between 1995 and 1999.
From 1997 until 1999 he was principal percussionist of the “Limburg Symphonie Orkest” in Maastricht. Since 1999 he has been working as a percussionist in the “Radio Filharmonisch Orkest” in Hilversum. This orchestra is part of the Dutch broadcasting company.

Vincent Cox also works as a composer. He has already produced several compositions for percussion groups often in addition with other instruments.
