The Drought is a six-minute work for percussion ensemble (10 players) which represents not only the natural event caused by a lack of rain, but also as a metaphor for any period of one's life where things of need do not come when needed, along with the feelings one gets while enduring a dry spell. This piece depicts the emotions of hope, anxiety, frustration, anger, and finally builds to the reward of a long-awaited rain.
