Theme and Variations is a work by the American pianist/composer/teacher Pat Pace. The subject of the work, which blends elements of classical music with jazz, was based on a theme of Mr. Pace's teacher Vincent Persichetti, who actually borrowed the motive from Brahms. It is a multi-sectioned work requiring improvisation in both parts. The choral section which concludes the piece was composed by Michael Pagán in tribute to Mr. Pace.
